Get F-FIT for 2017!

18 January 2017

We have good news for Dons supporters who are looking to change their lifestyle in 2017…Football Fans In Training (FFIT) is back!

Once again the programme will be available to men and women with two separate courses set to run from the end of January.

Aberdeen FC Community Trust are now recruiting for the latest session of Football Fans In Training. The 13-week programme starts on Monday 30th January for females and Tuesday 31st January for males, with sessions running from 6pm–7.30pm at Pittodrie Stadium.

Football Fans In Training is a fun-filled programme aimed at improving health and wellbeing, with the added perk of a behind the scenes look at the Club for participants!

The free weekly sessions at Pittodrie are split between classroom health education and physical activity training. All sessions are delivered by AFC Community Trust Coaches using the Club's facilities and feedback from previous sessions has been very positive.

The programme is co-ordinated by David Smith, Senior Community Projects Officer with Aberdeen FC Community Trust. “During the last programme we had one participant who lost an amazing 19kg and 11cm off his waist which is remarkable! It is brilliant to see the return of the Female FFIT after such a successful pilot scheme in 2014 and again in 2016.

“With the focus being on small changes, based around walking and light exercises more often and making healthier choices when eating, the group can really see that small, achievable lifestyle changes can lead to such a positive impact not just for the group, but for their families as well.”

This is a great opportunity to get involved with your Club and help you live a healthier and more active life. The programme is open to men and woman aged between 35-65 who fit any of the following criteria:

 – BMI of 28+
 – Belly 40 inches +
 – Trouser waist size of 38 inches +

Spaces are limited, so if you are keen to get involved or want more information on Football Fans in Training please email david.smith@afccommunitytrust.org or call 01224 650456.
