AFC Hall of Fame | Stuart Kennedy to be inducted
Aberdeen FC is delighted to announce that Dons legend Stuart Kennedy will be inducted alongside Alex McLeish at the latest AFC Hall of Fame evening which will take place on Saturday 12th November.
During his time in Aberdeen Stuart served the club with some distinction after joining from Falkirk for a fee of £40,000 in the summer of 1976. Within a few months Stuart had a winner’s medal to show for his efforts as part of the side which defeated Celtic 2-1 in the 1976 Scottish League Cup Final.
With the 40th anniversary of that historic triumph just around the corner there will be an opportunity to discuss that occasion with Stuart on the night and how it helped shape the future of the club for years to come.
Due to the strength of his performances Kennedy soon became a popular figure with supporters and duly received recognition at international level earning 7 caps for Scotland.
We hope that many Dons supporters will join us on the night as we honour a man who played a key role in establishing Aberdeen as a major force not only in Scotland but throughout Europe!
The event, sponsored by Rainbow City Taxis, will take place in the AAM Suite at Pittodrie and is sure to be a memorable occasion for AFC supporters, sponsors and partners alike!
Established in 2004, the AFC Hall of Fame recognises players and managers who have reached the pinnacle of their profession, making a significant contribution to the reputation of this great Club.
Tickets for this prestigious event are now available priced at £79+ VAT and include a 3 course meal, Hall of Fame presentation and Q&A with the inductees before we close with some after dinner entertainment.
More details will be announced soon including news of who the third and final inductee will be at this year’s event with Alex McLeish and Stuart Kennedy now confirmed.
