Football Memories | Rolling Back The Years

02 May 2016

Alzheimer Scotland’s ‘Football Memories’ group were paid a visit by a very special guest this week.

Aberdeen Football Club legend Neil Simpson came along to meet the group and talk about his favourite moments in an Aberdeen shirt.

The group got the chance to see one of a kind memorabilia, hear stories of famous matches and reminisce about Aberdeen through the decades.

Football Memories is a programme run by Alzheimer Scotland, Football Memories, Aberdeen FC and AFCCT. All of the participants are referred by Alzheimer Scotland who believe that football reminiscence may help people living with dementia become active.

There are currently 3 groups that run once a month with over 30 participants benefitting from this. To find out more about Aberdeen FC Community Trust’s Dementia Friendly programmes please find out more information by emailing dementiafriendly@afccommunitytrust.org
