'When Angus Met Donny' Book Launch Details

23 June 2015

'When Angus Met Donny', Book Launch Event, Scottish Kids Show, AECC
Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June

The book everyone has been waiting for! Well let’s face it how many books can you name that have a bull, a sheep, a group of bull napping Spanish matadors and Craig Brown as their central characters?

When Angus Met Donny, a book for children aged 5 to 95, is based around the Aberdeen FC and Aberdeen FC Community Trust mascots Angus the Bull and Donny the Sheep with a guest appearance from Si the Seagull (who is sunning himself in the Canary Island – where else would a bird go for his summer holidays?).

It is written by Aberdeen playwright and author Mike Gibb. When Angus Met Donny is Mike’s sixth book, following on from Ask Anna, How To Train Your Owner and Anna’s Adventures in Wonderland while his string of musicals and plays include the likes of Mother of All the Peoples, Five Pound & Twa Bairns, Clarinda, Doorways in Drumorty and Lest We Forget.

The book contains close on fifty full colour illustrations beautifully and humourlessly drawn by David Stout of Sketchpad.

Writer Mike Gibb will be on hand at the Scottish Kids Show, accompanied by the eponymous heroes, Angus and Donny at the Aberdeen FC Community Trust stall, so come along and have your book signed and your photo taken. All proceeds from the sale of the book, which costs £5.99, will be shared by the Aberdeen charities Aberdeen FC Community Trust and Friends of Bianca.

The book will also be available to purchase from the AFC Shop from Saturday 27th June.
