Graeme Shinnie completes Pittodrie move

10 June 2015

We are pleased to announce that Graeme Shinnie is now officially an Aberdeen player almost five months after penning a pre-contract agreement with the Club.

The 23 year old joins The Dons just days after lifting the Scottish Cup with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and has already set his sights on achieving similar success at Pittodrie.

Speaking in an exclusive extended interview with RedTV Graeme said, “I am raring to go and can’t wait to meet all of the players and staff.

“I know all about the club and how big the fan base is and after seeing what Aberdeen have done over the last couple of years under Derek McInnes just made me really want to come and join the club and achieve things.

“I met the manager before I signed and had a chat with him about what he wanted from the club and how he saw things going forward, that suited me and gave me a real buzz and that’s one of the reasons why I came.”

Shinnie was part of the Inverness CT team which lost out on penalties as Derek McInnes and his side brought an end to a 19 year wait for silverware to return to Pittodrie by winning the Scottish League Cup. It was a difficult experience but left the Aberdonian with an ambition to fulfil in a red shirt.

Graeme added, “It was frustrating after last year’s cup final watching Union Street being packed with all of the fans that were celebrating. I want to experience that myself and go and win trophies and have an open top bus down Union Street.”
