McKenna and Wright play for Scots U19s

14 November 2014

Scott McKenna captained Scotland to an impressive draw this afternoon against the Netherlands in an International Under-19 Challenge Match at the Falkirk Stadium. Scott Wright also played and set up the Scotland equaliser. Craig Storie had to withdraw from the squad because of injury.

After an even first half it looked as if the teams would go in level at the break, but a fantastically weighted through ball from the Netherlands Bart Nieuwkoop allowed midfield runner Schuurman to guide the ball past the outrushing Kelly and into the net to give the Dutch a narrow lead on the stroke of half time.

Then, just as it looked as if it wasn’t to be Scotland’s day, a deep cross from Scott Wright found it’s way to Muirhead who lashed home into the far corner to give Scotland the equaliser their positive play merited.
