The defender previews the trip to Dens.

“Off the top of my head I can think of 12 or 13 clear chances we had to score on Tuesday night.

“It happens in football. There are going to be games where it might be the other way around, where we get one chance or where we get a late decision in our favour or we take something from a game that we did not deserve. That is football though. You have to accept it. What is important is how you come back from it.

“We got a good result before the last international break. It is important. It sets you up nicely for a few days off, you are able to enjoy a couple of days off and relax and you feel refreshed when you come back. If you don’t get a good result it is on your mind the whole time.

“Whatever formation we play I still have to get up and down the park. I like to get forward to try and create chances. If you are a full back in Derek’s team then you have to get forward. The manager always sets his teams out to be attacking.

“Attacking full backs is modern day football. A few years ago you sat back and concentrated on defending. Before you were told defending is your job. Now it is different.  Now you have to get past the midfielders and sometimes let them do the defending. Hopefully I can continue to cause teams problems, create chances and even score now and again!”
