Dons sign keeper Mutch

05 August 2014

Aberdeen this afternoon signed 15 year old goalkeeper Robbie Mutch on a full time contract.

The youngster, who travelled with Paul Sheerin’s Under 20 side to Portugal recently and acquitted himself well with two shutouts in as many games, will be part of the U20 squad for the new season.

Robbie, who turns 16 in a few weeks and has been part of the Aberdeen system since the age of 8, told RedWeb. “As an Aberdeen supporter, this is my dream to play for the club. I am really looking forward to working with Jim Leighton and the other goalkeepers.”

Robbie, who lives in Inverurie, but was born in Elgin will play his first match as an Aberdeen player against his home town team this evening.  RedWeb will have updates from the Elgin v Aberdeen XI game later today.
