Aberdeen cruised to a 5-0 victory in their first Europa League Qualifying match at Pittodrie against Latvian side FK Daugava in front of a crowd of 15,000. Robson missed a penalty on 15 minutes before Hayes crossed for Logan to head the home side into the lead on 33 minutes. It took until the 2nd half for The Dons to add to their lead and they did so within the first 10 minutes. Firstly, brilliant play down the left by Jack resulted in a great ball into the box, the first McGinn shot was saved but he slammed the follow up into the net. Rooney then scored a good penalty as FK Daugava Riga were reduced to nine men before Hayes prodded the ball home on 72 minutes. Rooney rounded off the rout when he flicked the ball into the net from close range in added time. A comfortable evening for The Dons with the only negative being an injury to Peter Pawlett.

One foot note to the game: AFC Youth Academy graduate Scott Wright this evening made his first team debut for the Dons in a competitive game. A very proud moment for Scott and his family. This certainly wont be his last.
