New Signing Shaleum Logan

30 January 2014

speaks to RedTV

This afternoon Shaleum Logan arrived in Aberdeen. The right back had a medical, signed his paperwork and then spoke to RedTV:

“I first heard of the interest from Aberdeen on Monday afternoon. I had just finished training and I got a call from my agent.

“I know a bit about the club. I played with Niall McGinn at Brentford before he came back to Scotland at the start of last season. Since he came to Aberdeen I have always kept an eye on their scores.

“I also know Nicky Weaver and Willo Flood from my days at Manchester City. I played with Willo a few times in the reserves before he left to go elsewhere. Nicky and I were friends. We used to go and play snooker together. He would usually win but I was on 17 at the time! That will not be the case now so I am looking forward to getting some revenge! I kept in touch with Nicky when he was at Sheffield Wednesday and it will be nice to see him again.

“I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the boys tomorrow during my first training session. It will be a bit like my first day at school! It will be different to what I am used to but I am able to adapt. I am a positive person and it won’t be long before I am cracking jokes in the dressing room!

“I did not realise Aberdeen were in a cup semi final. After speaking with the manager I was made aware of the games that are coming up. There are some big games starting with the St Johnstone match on Saturday. It will be a great game to be part of.

“It is a good time to be coming to Aberdeen. Brentford are currently top of the league so it is good to come to another club who are having a good season. Hopefully I can help the club secure second spot in the league at the end of the season.

“The Aberdeen fans can expect to see a player who gives 110%. I consider myself to be an attacking full back. I love to attack but I also recognise I am a defender and need to be able to defend.

“I hope I am in the squad for Saturday and the team get the right result and one the fans deserve. If I do play I want to set a good first impression for the fans and show the manager he can trust me and he was right to bring me here.”
