Energy Cities Community Cup - Aberdeen V Viking Fk

03 September 2013

Brazilians to bring flash of colour to friendly match

Following on from the success of last year’s away friendly against Viking FK, the Dons will welcome the Norwegian club to Pittodrie on Wednesday 4th September to contest The Energy Cities Community Cup, part of celebrations during the bi-annual Offshore Europe event at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre.

We are delighted to announce Mi Swaco will proudly sponsor this match and look forward to welcoming their guests to Pittodrie to sample our first class hospitality.

The match tomorrow evening which kicks off at 7pm and is free for all supporters, will also see us welcome a 100 strong delegation from Brazil.

Vice Chairman, George Yule, is looking forward to hosting our Brazilian guests. “Aberdeen Football Club is the highest profile professional sporting organization based within in Europe’s oil capital and it is fitting for a number of reasons that we are hosting the inward business delegation from Brazil at the match against VIKING FK. We look forward to the arrival of our Brazilian guests and SDI to the match, we are sure they will add colour and spectacle to the game and on behalf of Aberdeen Football Club we wish them a successful OFFSHORE EUROPE 2013, an enjoyable stay in Aberdeen and safe travels to and from this event.

Gerry Love, Snr International Executive at Scottish Development International added. “SDI recently opened an office in Rio de Janeiro to reinforce our commitment to strengthening links between the two countries – by helping Scottish companies do business in Brazil and by encouraging Brazilian companies to look to Scotland for their supply chain opportunities. The event at Aberdeen Football Club will help progress us towards achieving this, during a night watching another common interest.”
