Dons draw this evening with Sunderland
Group A of the Denis Law Soccer Tournament remains wide open after Aberdeen and Sunderland shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Aberdeen Sports Village. Frank Ross put the young Dons in front after 9 minutes before Conor Davis levelled before the break.
A fine Michael Jones effort five minutes into the second half restored Aberdeen’s advantage and when Sunderland substitute Brandon Taylor was given a straight red card for a last man handball it looked all over for the English side. However with six minutes to go they were awarded a penalty which was converted expertly by Eliot Embleton.
Inverness kept their hopes alive with a 6-1 crushing of defending champions Motherwell. Chris Blackett, Jamie Wilson and Hayden Hollinger all grabbed doubles with Robbie Young notching the consolation for the Steelmen.
