The Manager spoke to the media at lunchtime today.

“We’re undefeated so obviously we’ve got to be pleased with that but I am disappointed we lost our first goal last week. I think I’d like to try and win the last couple of games if we can. We’ve got another away game and any point you get on the road is normally well earned and hard fought for. We want to try and finished the season as strongly as possible.

“I think there are positives to take from all three for different reasons. They’ve not been perfect performances by any means, we’ve introduced a few youngsters, we’ve tried to be fair in given out of contract players opportunities but we’ve tried to pick a team that can still go and win the game so it’s getting the balance right between all three.

“Every decision regarding our out of contract players will be made before next Saturday’s game. I think that’s only fair. I just want the players to concentrate on this week’s game and we’ll concentrate on all that next week.

“Regardless of the opposition the game is always about us. It’s all about our preparation. If we can play at a level that we’re happy with and capable of we can beat any team in the league.

“St Mirren will want to win their last home game in front of their support. They’ve been playing with a lot of tension of late. They’ve been in a bit of poor form recently but they’ve got good players in their squad. I saw them three or four weeks ago against Kilmarnock and their first half performance was as good as anything I’ve seen in the SPL for a long time. If we’re not playing at our best ability and slightly off it then we’re vulnerable so we need to make sure it’s a strong start from a strong Aberdeen side.

“Russell trained today, hopefully there’s no reaction. Jonny Hayes who was out last weekafter turning his ankle in training last week also trained and hopefully again there’s no reaction. Rory Fallon misses out, Peter misses out and Gary Naysmith has a slight tweak of his hamstring that’s causing a wee bit of concern and we may miss out this weekend. We’ve got a few youngsters coming in to the squad, Declan McManus comes in, he was away with Scotland last week trying to get into the Under 19 set up for their European Championships. Craig Storie is in the squad, young Craig Murray is added, Cammy Smith and Nicky Low so we’ll try and get a few youngsters involved on Saturday.”
