“The lads have all been very welcoming and I have settled in very quickly. I feel like I am at home here.

“Our performances have not been what we would have liked. But I think we can turn it around on Saturday and then kick on.

“There are high expectation levels everywhere, at all clubs. Every club wants to be successful and for me in is nothing new. Every club I have been at wants to be flying high and winning every week. As a footballer it is just something you have to deal with.

“The Aberdeen fans are disappointed with the results and the performances and hopefully we can give them something to cheer about on Saturday.

“The one thing I did know about coming up here was how big the club are and how important wins are. We want to get a win on Saturday to give the fans something to cheer but also get a win for everyone inside the club as well because it hurts us as well.

“In football you cannot look backwards.

“You need to look forward. For us we need to look towards the next challenge. There are so many games you have to keep going. We need to focus on putting in a performance that we know we can deliver. There is a lot of quality in that changing room so I know that we will go onto good things.

“I did not know what to expect Scottish football would be like. I did not come up here thinking it was amazing or was terrible. I came up with an open mind to see what it was like.

“It is too early to judge our own team from the games so far. As I say I can see that we have a lot of good players and I think we can go on and do some really good things this season. I hope that does come to fruition and we can go on and be successful.

“I spoke to the manager before I came up here and he named a few players who have been on loan here and have been successful. Max Lowe last season did well and there has been other players before him. I want to be part of that. I want to come here and develop my own game from a personal point of view but also help the team as much as I can.

“It is really disappointing for Ash and Scott but that is football. A lot of opportunities for other players come from guys being injured. I don’t want to wish an injury on anyone. I had a long chat with Ash and he is obviously very disappointed. But I have to try and take this opportunity with both hands and show everyone what I can do. That starts if I play on Saturday.

“If you win a couple of games in football then the confidence builds. And then you feel that you can go into any game and beat anyone. That is what we need to do on Saturday. Get a win and get the ball rolling and then hopefully it is the start of a run of winning games.

“I don’t think we are too far away and I think we will fully click soon. Training has been good, as it has been for a few weeks so that makes the performances even more frustrating.

“We probably could have done without the international break, when performances have not been quite right, you want to start putting them right. But we just need to focus on getting a win on Saturday and taking it from there.”
