Training Camp Day 1 | Lewis Ferguson on RedTV

New signing Lewis Ferguson was the Dons first capture of the summer from fellow Ladbrokes Premiership side Hamilton Academical. The 18 year old made 14 first team appearances for Accies last season before signing a pre-contract agreement with the Dons. Before his first training session with his new team mates in Ireland on Monday evening he spoke with RedTV:

“I am settling in well. The boys have been great with me and made me very welcome.

“I first heard about the interest from Aberdeen towards the end of last season. I did not need much convincing to come here. It is a massive opportunity for me. It is a big challenge. There are a lot of great players at this club and I am looking forward to it.

“My dad helps me a lot. I look to him for advice and I listen to him. He said it would be a great move for me.

“It will be a big challenge to get into the Aberdeen first team. As I said there are a lot of good players in the squad. I will just get my head down and work hard and hopefully I can force myself into the starting XI.

“It is an exciting start to the season with us playing in Europe and the games against Burnley. They are a great team who play in one of the best leagues in the world if not the best. It is a game everyone is already looking forward to.

“The training camp in Ireland will be tough, especially as it is very hot. I just need to get a good pre-season under my belt, so I am flying for the new season.

“It will be a chance this week to get to know my team mates better as it will be for all the new boys.”
