Tommie Hoban | St Johnstone Preview

It was very important for us to put things right after a very disappointing afternoon the week before at Ross County.

It was a good performance overall against Motherwell and for me personally it was great to get a goal as well as the cleansheet!

Everyone played well. There are still things we can improve on, but there will always be parts of the game you can work on. A positive afternoon, and we are looking to take that into tomorrow night now.

We had a decent enough December, then lost a couple. But hopefully the Motherwell result can be a launch pad now. We have a lot of games coming up, some very tough games against some inform sides. But we are looking forward to the challenge and we are confident that if we can play to the level we know we can do, then we will come away with a decent points haul.

The league is very tight and we keep swapping places with Hibs. We have a couple of games in hand over Hibs and if we can win them there is a chance to open up a little gap. It is important to rack up as many points as we can, because every time we think we are pulling away Hibs pull us back. A good run of results with the games coming thick and fast will help massively. If we do that, we can then start to look above us as well.

We have some big games coming up with us playing Livingston twice before heading to Easter Road. But for now we are fully focused on Wednesday night. One game at a time.

We have played St Johnstone twice and had two good results against them but they have not been easy games. There are not any easy games in the league, and they are going to be full of confidence coming into the game after a great result in the semi-final at the weekend. So we are expecting a very tough night.

But I am confident that if we can play to the level that we know we can do, we can come away with the three points and get a little run going. It is all about stringing a run together. You look at what Livingston have done after going on an unbelievable run and you see their position in the league now. We know that if we can put a run of four or five wins together then we will have put ourselves in a good position.
