Manager Derek McInnes spoke to the media on Thursday afternoon to preview Saturday’s game against Ross County in Dingwall.
“Every manager will be saying the same thing today at their press conferences, about how important getting three points is.
“It is the same three points as every other.
“When we had the Hamilton game so quickly after the Celtic performance, it was a real benefit for us. It couldn’t come quick enough.
“We all wanted to get back onto the pitch and start to feel better about ourselves and try and demonstrate a better performance.
“When you go into the international break it can feel like the longest two weeks or you can feel good about yourself with another win and that is what we are going to try and do.
“We have got a good support going up to Dingwall on Saturday.
“Some of the recent performances have put a bit of positivity and belief back into the support with the team and we are not as bad as maybe some think.
“To get to be as good as we want to be, we need to keep winning games and quietly go about our business. Hopefully we can go into the international break with another win.
“Three wins in a row was the short-term target after the Celtic game and that is what we still aim to do.
The manager was asked about the speculation in a paper this morning linking him with the vacant job at English Championship side Stoke City.
“I know nothing about it. I wasn’t even aware of it until I got told about it this morning.
“I am concentrating on my job here. I have got enough going on here to deal with. We are looking to get our third win in a row and go into the international break feeling a bit better about ourselves.
“There is nothing in it.
“I don’t feel anything about it. I am just concentrating on the job in hand here.
“The talk isn’t a distraction for me, and I am sure it isn’t for the players.”
The full transcript from the press conference will appear in the match preview this evening.
