“It was nice to get my name on the scoresheet again.

“I am not sure who decides, but is has to be two goals to my name! It was on target!

“I am not sure who the referee has put down as the scorer. Obviously I scored an offside goal at the start of the second half but thankfully I was able to get a third one. It was a very important goal at that stage of the game. It gave us some breathing space after we made it a bit more difficult than it needed to be.

“It was a good ball from Mark, a good channel ball. I got the break of the ball but was able to find the net.

“The win and the three points however was the most important thing.

“It was important to get back to winning ways. Obviously it was a very disappointing performance against Motherwell. Teams around us have dropped points which made the win today even more important.

“The start to the game was exactly what we needed. The second goal came not long after. We probably could have pushed on a bit more but we did not play our best stuff up to half time. We sat off a bit more than we would have liked.

“But we got the job done in the end. I am pleased we got over the line. Job done.

“The Kris Boyd comments was not something we even spoke about to be honest. There are always things in the papers and the press. As a player you really don’t let it affect you in anyway.

“The gaffer said to me before the game not to worry about the pressure (of not scoring). Just go and do your stuff. The most important thing for me was to keep working hard and playing well, doing my bit to help the team and if I kept doing that the goals I always believed would come.

“We now have a couple of very big games coming up. Starting with Wednesday.

“We will need to get rested up because the game will come around quickly. Our focus can now be on that. Before now we have not given very much thought to the Rangers game. We have not looked at their strengths and weaknesses yet. We will do that this week. By the time we walk onto the field on Wednesday night however we will be fully prepared, as we always are.

“It is not an easy place to visit but hopefully we can’t go and get a result again. Our focus will be positive and we will concentrate on what we need to do to break them down and get a result.

“We have not decided how we are going to set up, how we are going to play and what we are going to do but I can guarantee we will be ready to go by the time we kick off on Wednesday. It is a big game and one the boys are looking forward to.”
