Scott spoke to RedTV after an impressive performance in the Scottish Cup replay on Tuesday.

“It is a very important result.

“We knew how big a game it was. We wanted to make sure there were not any cup shocks here. We took the game very seriously, prepared like we would every game and I thought it was a very professional performance.

“The gaffer said to me before the game, he wanted to play and it is just a case of me going out and expressing myself. We had a game plan, to play down the sides of them, with myself and Niall being heavily involved. So the first goal was pleasing, from one winger to another! He took his goal well.

“I have said before that I am trying to work on my final ball – whether that be a pass or a final shot.

“You can always improve as a footballer and I am trying to work hard to do that during training and after training.

“It is great to have competition in every position. You can’t complain when people like Greg Stewart come to the club. He is a fantastic footballer and it gave everyone in the dressing room a lift.

“It is up to me take my chance whenever the manager gives me one – whether that be with goals or assists. All I can do is play my game and hope that is enough to keep me in the team. if it is not, then I need to get my head down and keep working hard.

“It was great to see another youth academy graduate getting a chance. I said to Ethan, I hope it is the first of many games for him at this club. I am very positive it will be. Ethan has been working very hard in training and has been a real shining light for the reserves and the U18s. if you work hard you will get your chance here. It is brilliant for him.

“I am just delighted with the result tonight and we have some big games now to look forward to.”
