Ryan Christie | Hearts Post Match

“I think that was the main feeling in the changing room after the game.

“We wanted to end the year with a win so it’s unfortunate not to do that, but Hearts were very well organised. I think their main aim was to stop us creating chances.

“We did created a few. Rooney had a couple of chances and there were one or two other ones when we maybe we could do better. There’s positives to take from the game because we dominated the 90 minutes and created more chances than then.

“Although the break’s coming up everyone’s really looking forward to getting back because we’re playing some really good football right now, which is good.

“We’ll come back after the break hopefully flying and with Niall coming in, it will only help us. He’s a very good player going forward so we’re looking forward to getting him back in to the games.

“The break is very much needed that’s for sure.

“A lot of the boys will lap up the sun in Dubai and enjoy it. It’s nice to go away this time of year and it takes you away from churning out training sessions in freezing cold weather. Over there you feel like you’re getting something a bit different from your training so it is very worthwhile.

“Our focus over there will be on our Scottish Cup match. By the time St Mirren come to visit here I’m sure we’ll be refreshed and ready to go.”
