“We knew it was going to be a massive week for us after a slow start to the season. We’ve drew a few before that so we wanted to get three points on the board against Motherwell and put ourselves in a Semi-Final and we’ve done that. The confidence is good and we’ve got another massive task on Saturday, but we’re looking to keep the momentum and get more points on the board.

“You always get added confidence and belief especially by getting a victory the way we did. Extra time and penalties is always difficult, but when you come out on the winning team the victory is always that bit sweeter. We’re all feeling good and used the last two days to recover well. We just want to keep playing well and better because I feel although we’ve gotten two victories we’ve still got another gear to kick into. We’ll certainly need to do that if we want to get anything at Celtic Park.

“We go into every game looking to win and it’ll be no different this week down there. We know it’s going to be such a tough game and they’re the champions for a reason and at home they are a formidable side. But we’ll go down with belief and confidence that we can go down there and get the three points.

“It’s early on in the season and they’ve obviously not had the start they maybe hoped for. I think they are the best team in the country and I know their players well. They are a great team and it’s certainly not going to be easy. For whatever reason things haven’t gone as well as maybe they have in the past, but they’ll find their form sooner rather than later. Certainly, at home they are very strong.

“I’m enjoying myself. The manager has given me a lot of belief and I said before that this pre-season went really well for me. You get minutes under your belt in pre-season and hit the ground running and we started the season with big games in Europe. I’ve just carried it on. I feel fit physically in a good place and mentally in a good place, so it comes by playing games. I feel really good here and we’ve got a great squad that the manager has assembled here. I feel as well as it’s gone there’s more to come and I’m excited with what’s to come. I’m enjoying my time definitely.

“It’s sweeter to win like that sometimes (digging deep)

“It’s important to dig deep and show you can go down to the wire and you can get the victory that can almost be a kickstart that unites the squad. We had that this week in two different ways and I think we’re in a good place going into Saturday.

“I’ve always enjoyed going down to Celtic Park and it’s a great stadium to play your football at. Saturday will be no different and I’ve played there a few times since I left and it’s always nice to go back. My focus is solely on just doing as well as I can for Aberdeen and hopefully bringing the three points back up the road.”
