Rangers v Aberdeen

Max Lowe

“It’s exactly the kind of reaction we wanted. As a defender getting a clean sheet is massive for us coming here and then nicking a goal. Scott McKenna was fantastic tonight and the clean sheet topped it off.

“It’s been quite easy for me playing alongside Scott and Niall, two lads with great experience and quality. Niall’s helped me massively defensively as i’m a young lad with a lot to learn and Scott’s backing me up from the left side as well. I can’t give them too enough credit. Scott Wright has come on and put a right good shift for the lads too.

“Joe’s the best keeper in the league and every time he plays he’s pulling off unbelievable saves and his experience and calmness is what we need sometimes. There were a lot of red card decisions made in that game and Lafferty’s elbowed Scott and he’s come out of it gushing with blood so that was a questionable decision. We were confident no matter how many players we had on the pitch we were going to win tonight.

“It’s not just the two occasions this week the whole six months i’ll be here for and hopefully it might be extended I’ve loved every minute of it. Even when I’ve not been playing the lads have been great with me and I’ve learnt every day. This last week football has been massive for my development. We are confident and believe everyone watching us in the league is going to be scared coming up against us.”

Dominic Ball

“It was unbelievable. Considering the disappointment of Sunday against Celtic to come here away from home and win like that was just unbelievable.

“We had a plan coming here and after Sam gets sent off it does make it a lot tougher, but it just shows the character that we have and the defensive ability we have at this club. It’s everyone doing their job and we all done it tonight.

“The biggest thing was having lost on Sunday in a final where I thought we could have got more from the game and three days later to come here and put in that sort of shift is credit to every single one of the lads in there.

“Scott’s got that in him and he’s shown that. Everyone needs to take some responsibility in scoring and Scott has done that tonight.

“It was important for us after they got the player sent off that we didn’t take our foot off the pedal and we said to keep doing what we were doing. It gave us the chance to get forward and keep countering. Everyone took responsibility for that.

“Sunday’s game is a catalyst for a change in the season for all of us. We were so close and put in a great performance and with so many games coming up we hope to keep that consistency of playing really well and hopefully we can do that for the rest of the month.”
