“It is always nice to get on the scoresheet.
“But the most important thing at this stage of the season is getting the minutes into you and staying fit and avoiding injuries so you can do all the work.
“I have done a good bit of work over the summer.
“I got 60 minutes today and some of the boys got the full 90 as we build up to the Burnley game in a few weeks.
“I have put my injury problems behind me now and it is not something I think about. I am just looking forward to playing and hopefully scoring some goals, helping the team have a good season.
“I have not set myself any targets. I just go into every game trying to score. That is what
“I have always done. Hopefully a few more can come this season.
“I am flexible and happy to play anywhere as long as I can still get in good positions and make runs in behind. I have played as part of a two or as a lone striker. Happy to do what is needed for the team, I will go out and do my job.
“We had a good season as a whole last year. There were a couple of good teams pushing us for second spot. We also did not finish too far behind Celtic, especially considering there were a number of games where we can look back on now and think we should have picked up three point here and there. We got the job done in the end.
“There are a few new faces and they are showing what they do. There is a lot of exciting talent coming through and I am also sure there will be more new players coming through the door.
“Lewis Ferguson looks like a real good player. He’s got a good physique and size to him for his age.
“He looks an exciting prospect and he looks like a great bit of business from Aberdeen.”
“With the fixtures we have got coming up, everyone wants to be involved so that helps with the competitiveness in the friendlies. You want to put your name forward so you are in the starting XI.”
