The Manager

“We are all delighted that he is staying.

“On a personal level he has been absolutely brilliant with me ever since I came in full time at the club. He has also been brilliant for the whole club and the whole city and all the fans. It is good news for the club that he is staying.

“The manager’s position (regarding the link to the Scotland job) was not something that was discussed in the dressing room.”

“We all know how big a game Sunday is, as we try and clinch third spot. We can only do that by hopefully getting a victory and we get some help at Rugby Park and Kilmarnock drop points.

“At the end of the day, if Kilmarnock win, we are probably going to lose out on goal difference – we can’t really argue with that. If they get third spot, they will have deserved it for getting more points and goals over the course of the season.

“We might still manage to get a European spot if Celtic can win the cup, but obviously we would far rather do it by finishing third.

“We can only do what we can do on Sunday and that is to try and get the three points. Whatever ever happens elsewhere, we have no control over that.

“It is important we go and perform well and get the three points.”

“Since the new manager came in, Hibs have done very well and I am sure they will be set up well. They are playing with a lot of confidence. But if we can go down there and play as well as we can, I am sure we can get the three points.

“Although Hibs don’t have anything to play for, every team this weekend will want to finish the season as strongly as possible and with as many points on board as possible. So Hibs are not to just let us turn up and have it all our own way. We are going to have to work hard for it.

“All the boys that are moving on on Sunday have contributed massively to the club and I am sure every single one of them will want to go out on a high.”

Easter Road

“I have only played at Easter Road in the cup game – in the other two games I was suspended or injured. Hibs have a very strong home record but we have done well down there this season.

“Hopefully we can continue that on Sunday and put in a good performance to finish the season.”

Players returning

“It has given everyone a boost seeing some familiar faces returning to training this week.

“There have been too many good players on the treatment table. The numbers in training has increased and there has been a feel good factor. Everyone has enjoyed it. Hopefully that will show in our performance.”

Player of the Year Night

“Everyone who one awards last night were worthy winners.

“From Lewis to Max to Joe. All of them have had very strong seasons and deserved their rewards.”

After Sunday?

“Sunday is the only thing on my mind right now. Anything that comes after that will be spoken about then.

“When it comes to speculation about my future, I now just listen to what my agent says rather than what is put in the papers. That way I know all the facts and know there is nothing to worry about. He is always in control of the situation. It allows me to focus on the football and doing well with Aberdeen.

“I love being selected for the Scotland squad and hopefully it is something that will happen again for the qualifiers coming up in June. Obviously, we are not sure who the manager is going to be but hopefully who ever it is, they selected me.”

Future Captain?

“The boys have all picked up on the fact my record as captain is dreadful! Have we won a game?! It was good to get Shinnie back into the team last Friday so we could win a match!

“It would be a great honour. The manager has some strong candidates to pick from.”
