“After a game like that, all you can do is dust yourself down and get on with it.

“Very frustrating afternoon.

“You spend all week setting up a game play and after a few minutes in goes out the window and you are down to ten men. You then have to think on your feet a bit. Credit to Kilmarnock, they deserved the win through the way they made the most of the man advantage.

“Referee’s have a tough job, they have to be everywhere sometimes. But I think the handball in the lead up to the first goal, the linesman is right there. I think the assistant referees can help the referee’s out more. From where I was, it looked a clear hand ball as he (Stephen O’Donnell) has mis controlled it and the ball has hit his arm and then bounced into his path.

“A frustrating one. You could also argue that it was also not a free kick.

“At half time we were down to ten men and a goal down, but there was still a belief that we could get a result. We came out but credit to Kilmarnock, again they played well and made the most of the advantage.

“It was a good goal from Greg. I felt I had all the angles covered but he showed great composure to dink it over me. Excellent finish.

“You could argue the break has come at a bad time because from a players point of view you want to get back out there and get more points on the board and put it right. But we have to make the most of the two week break, get ourselves recharged after a hectic spell, get ourselves together and hopefully get a few bodies off the treatment table.”
