“Niall McGinn is a great addition to the squad.

“You can see what he has achieved at the club previously and if he can come back and replicate that it would be great. It is a great boost for everyone at the club.

“He was a bit of a fans favourite so they will be delighted to see him back on the pitch.

“All the boys in the dressing room are really pleased. He will provide width. The strikers will be happy with the service that he provides. He has had a lot of assists in the past and has also chipped in with a good number of goals.

“As a group we spoke about it before the Partick game, can we get six points out of the next two games and finish the year on a high and go into the break feeling good about ourselves?

“We are half way to reaching that target.

“Hearts are a strong team, they are in decent form, especially defensively so we are going to need to work hard to break them down. We will have had to earn our victory if we get it.

“There are a lot of teams who are looking good at the moment. I think Hearts are looking very strong. We know that if we slip up there will be team waiting to take advantage.

“The results have been there so far this season. We are fairly content with the points total. Sometimes the performances, particularly in the early part of the campaign were not quite there. It did take time to gel as a side but you can certainly see signs of what we can be as a side this season. Certainly in some of the performances in the last month.

“We lost a lot of key players in the summer. We got some very good players in. But it takes time to get to know each others game. I feel that is happening at the moment. Hopefully we can kick on during the second half of the season.

“There is more to come from this side.

“Hopefully we will get the three points tomorrow and then we will look forward to having a few days off, then we will get together and have a good training camp and get ready for the second part of the season.

“We can use the break to get rid of any niggles anyone has.

“I remember this time last year we had the say fixture away from home. We were thinking the same thing. We managed to get the win down there and hopefully we can do the same this year. It would be good to send the fans and everyone involved in the club into break feeling good about themselves.

“It has been a tough spell but this is probably the easiest game to keep the energy levels up because you know after Saturday that you have a break. It was something different for me after coming up from England. In my opinion the winter break is a very good thing for the league. Not just for the pitches, but for the players. It worked for us last season and hopefully it will again this season.

“You can separate the two parts of the season which allows you to reassess your goals and targets.

“The only target we are focusing on now though is to get three points tomorrow.”
