“It was a different victory to how I thought it was going to go, even during the game.

“I was hoping that we could maybe have added to our 1-0 lead and then keep it tight at the back.

“We just switched off a little bit from the long throw in. We have actually got a decent header on it but the ball has come off the back of one of their players heads and we have dropped the runner.

“It was frustrating because it was something we had spoken about before the game.

“Disappointing, and then I think they get a bit of momentum from the equaliser and manage to get ahead.

“But huge character from the lads.

“I think you will see a lot of that this season.

“We have a lot of character and also a lot of attacking flair. Hopefully that will get the crowds in and will win us plenty of points.

“In that front third we have real legs and tempo. Hopefully the fans can see that and will get right behind us this season. It is an exciting team to watch and we hope we can get as many here as possible each week and create a real atmosphere and make this place a fortress.

“In general last season I did not think we were too bad here, but there were a few stand out poor results that we were really disappointed with. But I think we are a different side this year. We have a lot more attacking flair.

“From my point of view, I would like us to be a bit more boring! At the back at least! With a bit of tidying up then hopefully we can start to get some clean sheets to go along with that attacking flair.

“It bodes well for the season.

“It is exciting stuff so far.

“Everyone enjoyed Ryan’s goal.

“It is nice to beat a team like Hearts, who are a strong team and they are competitive and they battle for every ball. It was nice to get one over a good side like that and get three points on the board early in the season and get our league campaign going.

“Potentially their might have been a bit of tiredness that crept in during that second half. Perhaps mentally we switched off slightly and we have to look at that and make sure we don’t do that again.

“It gave Hearts a sniff, more than a sniff at one stage, of winning the game.

“But as I say we showed great character to turn it around.

“Ryan Hedges came on and he is a really exciting player. It is likely if we did not have back to back games, Ryan would have started. He gives you that excitement and energy and quality in the attacking third.

“It must have been a good save in the first half I had to win me the sponsors man of the match!

“I was pleased with that one because I lost site of it as the ball when it went across me. I saw that Berra had got the run on his marker – I think Andy slipped to eb fair so it was a bit harsh to say he lost his man – and Berra got a good contact on it.

“You just try and cover your near half of your goal when that happens. I stuck my hand out and managed to get the ball up and over the bar which was pleasing. And obviously the sponsors had a good view of it!
