“We have to get going. We have had too many poor results. The whole squad realises we need to start scoring some goals and start winning some football matches.
“We have been very aware of it throughout the season, but we are now at the point when we have to start picking up three points. We have to address it.
“It is difficult to say when we have had a bad run. We have not scored enough goals and obviously if you don’t score goals you can’t win games. Every team goes through spells of different form, but two wins out of nine is not good enough.
“We have 12 games left. Every game is huge.
“When you don’t live up to the expectation levels at this club, you will get criticized. The only way to silence the critics is to work hard and do better on the pitch.
“We have not done as well as we would have liked this season and can look back at games that we should have won or taken something from. But ultimately, when you look at the league table, we are only one win away from third. We are still not in that bad a place.
“But we have to start winning, and hopefully we can do that on Saturday.
“And I believe we have the players in the building, plus those we have just brought in, to up the performances and show that we have got what it takes.
“Ryan is a big loss. He has probably been our most influential player throughout the season. It is another disappointment, but we now need other people to step up.
“We have some new players who are settling in. We have to help them now settle in as quickly as possible on the pitch. For us, it is about getting to know their game as quickly as possible. So having a few days on the training field this week has been very beneficial ahead of Saturday.
“The moment the game finished on Tuesday, everyone wanted the next game to come around as quickly as possible.”
