“Aberdeen are a massive club.

“When they come to speak with you, I had already made my decision. I knew I wanted to come here.

“I then got to speak with the manager and he told me the aims for the season, what he wanted and what his goals were. I was just hooked and wanted to sign straight away.

“I agreed with the manager and with Russ Richardson that I was coming to Aberdeen. I would not go back on my word.

“I have come here to play games. I have come here to help the team. That is what I want to do. I know Joe Lewis has been fantastic throughout the season and I who how well he did last season from playing against him. I want to continue the high standard of goalkeeping at this club and help the team achieve their aims for the remainder of the season.

“I loved my time in Scotland last season. I got to know the league very quickly and enjoyed playing in it.

“The league helped me go on and do what I did with England and win the U20 World Cup. Having got the game time and the experience of playing in big stadiums prior to that by playing up here, it helped me achieve what I wanted to achieve in the summer.

“I will also be grateful to Scottish football for that.

“When I arrived last season at Kilmarnock, Scottish football was very different to what I thought it would be like.

“Every game is very different. The teams and stadiums are very different. One game you could be playing a possession team and the next game the ball could be in the air and it a physical battle. You get to experience all aspects of the game and that is what I like about it.

“Football is about playing in big games and thriving on the challenge.

“I can’t wait to play in big games. I have been fortunate enough to have played in a few already in my career and I have loved them. Playing in that World Cup final was amazing and I want to take that experience into the games I play for Aberdeen.

“Hopefully there are some big cup games between now and the end of the season, as well as league ones.

“Hopefully I can keep my good form in Scotland going and do my bit to help the team.”
