“It is the best first touch I have ever had in a game!
“I am delighted to get my first goal for the club. I wanted to come up here and score goals so hopefully that is the first of many. I always felt that once I got my first goal, I would go on and score more.
“The goal means even more as it was the winner, and after the run we have had.
“It is a relief; the boys have stuck together so it is nothing more than what we deserve.
“You do feel a bit of pressure as a striker when you are on a run like that, but it is more subconsciously. I don’t feel that it was affecting the way the team were playing, we always felt that it was only a matter of time before we did score.
“It is football, teams go through patches like this, it happens. It was a tough game today, the conditions made it difficult, but we deserved the three points, and I am happy that I got the winner.
“From a selfish point of view it is an opportunity for me after Fraser got injured. It has come in the worst possible way, I would never have wanted it to come that way, but it has. I would rather come on in the 80th minute and score and Fraser was still fit.
“I get on really well with Fraser and I hate seeing any of my friends getting injured. I hope his injury is nothing serious.
“I will get my head down on Monday and work hard and try and get a place in the team next weekend.
“Flo is very good to play alongside. He is a very strong boy. He does a lot of work off the ball which helps me a lot. He is obviously a very good player, a player of real quality.
“I am loving it up here. The boys are amazing. The gaffer and his staff are really good with me. There is a really nice feeling around Cormack Park. I am really enjoying my football which is the main thing.”
