As AFC Women prepare to get back in action at the Balmoral Stadium this weekend for the visit of Hearts, youngsters from AFCCT’s Easter coaching camp at Aberdeen Sports Village had a surprise visit from AFC Women players, Carrie Doig and Hannah Stewart.
Thanks to the support of AFC Women partners, Boskalis, GAC and Tendeka, the players were on hand to giveaway over 250 tickets to the children with each participant at the coaching camps at both Aberdeen Sports Village and Garioch receiving two tickets each for the match.
Carrie and Hannah also spent time joining in the coaching sessions before participating in a Q&A with the youngsters, giving them the opportunity to find out what it’s like to play for the AFC Women’s team.
Reflecting on the support AFC Women have received this season, Carrie said: “This whole season has been brilliant, the number of fans that we had that came to the game at Pittodrie was remarkable. We want to keep that going, we want people to keep on coming to our games because it makes a difference to us. If we can get as many young kids as possible coming along to our games, both boys and girls, it definitely makes a difference for us.”
This Sunday’s game kicks off at 4pm and Under 16s can enjoy FREE access with adults able to gain entry for just £5. Entry will be via cash turnstiles only.
Refreshments will be available from the Haar rock kiosk.
