“It is a big game. Everyone is fully aware of the size of it and fully aware of getting the job done. We have worked hard to get to this point. We have played well, we need to continue that good play that we have been building on and working on in training and take it into tomorrow night.
“We know we have to win the game and we are confident that we can do that. They are a very good team with some good quality. The weather will be different and it will suit us more from last week. It will also be a flatter pitch, both teams will enjoy a better pitch. We are playing with confidence and we want to keep building on what we have been doing and execute our plans well.
“In Europe you need to remain calm. It is different playing against European opposition. It can be different to what we play in domestically, there are different challenges. We need to be positive, we need to be attacking, we need to be on the front foot and we need to be patient. It is one goal that we need to overturn. We don’t need to be gung ho although we will be looking to start the game on the front foot and positively.
“We will approach the game as we do for any game. Any game we go into we try to win the game. We will approach it in that way. The approach doesn’t need to be drastically different to any other game.
“It was my 500th club appearance on Sunday and tomorrow night will defiantly be one of the more important ones. It is one that we are all looking forward to. The crowd will be a big factor for us. It was a decent atmosphere over there but sometimes when you have a track around the pitch it can temper the atmosphere slightly. We will look to make as noise as we can and try to give the supporters something back.
“Thursday night games have always been special. We haven’t got past this stage for a long time as a football club. The thought of six more group stage games, where three are at home, which would be great for the city and for the club, that is enough for all of the players to look forward and to try and spur us on to get a victory.
“We have had some big games and some big atmospheres at Pittodrie before, it is nothing new in that respect. A lot of the players will have played in big atmospheres. Sunday at Hearts was a loud atmosphere and we produced a good performance. There is no reason why we cant replicate that and feed off the atmosphere. We have got enough experience in the side and the young lads have shown tremendous maturity. The two young full backs spring to mind. Although they have only played a handful of senior games between them, they have shown tremendous maturity to deal with any occasion and they have shown that when they have played. We have enough experience not to let the occasion get to us.”
