Michael Devlin

Player Profile - Details

Michael signed for the Dons in the 2018 January transfer window from fellow Premiership side Hamilton, where he was captain. A product of the Aberdeen and then Accies academies, the central defender was thrown into the big stage at 17 years old against Rangers at Ibrox.

Shortly after he had two loan spells at Stenhousemuir before returning to Accies to establish himself in their promotion to the Premiership. During the 2013/14 season Devlin had retained his place in the Accies defence at New Douglas Park and was made captain as the team once again saw off the threats of relegation. An injury on the final day of the 2016/17 season proved to be his last match for over a year.

Despite the injury, Devlin signed with The Dons during the 2018 January transfer window and continued his comeback to football with the Pittodrie physios. The 24 year old made his long awaited debut in the pre-season friendly against Robh Ramblers. He went onto make 30 appearances in his first full season for The Dons, with his first goal for the club coming against his former side Hamilton.
