The AFC Women Player of the Year awards, sponsored by Boskalis, took place at The Marcliffe Hotel earlier this evening. The event celebrated the success of AFC Women after a season in which they enjoyed a top half finish on their return to the top-flight after back-to-back promotions. It was also a chance to look forward to the new campaign and the move to semi-professional status.

Four category awards were handed out on the night as well as special recognition awards to Carrie Doig & Captain, Kelly Forrest to mark their retirements after a combined 20-year service to Aberdeen Ladies and AFC Women.

Young Player of the Year

The winner of this award was selected by co-managers Emma Hunter and Gavin Beith. It is based on the contribution that this young player has made to the team over the course of the season.

Our 2021/22 Young Player of the Year winner is Jessica Broadrick.

Players’ Player of the Year

This award allows the players to select a team-mate who they believe has made the biggest contribution during the season. The award is voted for by all first team players via a private ballot.

Our 2021/22 Players Player off the Year winner is Eilidh Shore.

Goal of the Season

This award was voted for by our supporters on afc.co.uk after a shortlist of contenders was drawn up by the management team.

The 2021/22 Goal of the Season is Chloe Gover for her brilliant free kick against Motherwell in February.

Player of the Year

(Sponsored by Barratt and David Wilson Homes)

We gave supporters the chance to vote for this award on afc.co.uk, with fans asked to select the player they thought had the biggest impact on the team this season. A shortlist of three players (Jessica Broadrick, Eilidh Shore & Bayley Hutchison) was chosen by the management team for supporters to pick from.

Our 2021/22 Player of the Year is Eilidh Shore.

Thank you to all of the sponsors and guests who made it such a wonderful evening. Also thank you to our special guest Hannah Miley for a fascinating insight into her career.  And a massive thank you to all our supporters for their backing throughout the season.
