Aberdeen Women play their game in hand on Tuesday evening when they take on Partick Thistle at Cormack Park after the original game in November was postponed.

The sides have met twice already this season, with The Dons winning on both occasions, 2-0 in September and 2-1 in March. Aberdeen go into the game sitting in 5th place in the league, while Partick are in 7th position.

Co-manager Gavin Beith previewed the game on Tuesday evening:

“We go into Tuesday’s match on the back of an unbelievable experience at Ibrox nine days ago. It was a fantastic experience and the girls have earned the right to play at venues like that. Rangers wanted to play us because they knew we could give them a reasonable challenge and for the players to play at Ibrox, just after playing at Pittodrie, it has been an amazing month or so for them.

“Those types of games are going to happen more in the future so the players need to get used to it. There was a noisy crowd the whole game down there and it was something new for the players to deal with but these occasions are great and there will be more of them to come.

“A win would really strengthen our position in the league table where we currently sit in fifth place. Our last three remaining matches after tonight are away from home so it would be great to go into those games with a win under our belt.

“It won’t be easy against Partick Thistle though and they will be equally keen to finish the campaign off on a positive note. Thistle, like us, have had a good first season in SWPL1 after being added to the league late in the day. They have more than proved that they belong in the division though and both our matches with them have been close, hard-fought contests.

“As this is the last home game of the season, I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has come along to support us over the campaign. The Balmoral Stadium has been a great home for us and the support we have had has been fantastic.”
