Information from the pre-ops meeting this week.

Supporters attending Ibrox for Rangers v Aberdeen on Wednesday, 27 October should be aware of road closures in and around Glasgow and plan their journey in advance.

Drivers are reminded that the A814 Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow is closed from the Partick Interchange to J19 at Anderston.

There are a lot of road closures around the SEC area, most notably, the Squinty Bridge, which some supporters may have used in the past. Access to Ibrox is from either the M74 or M8. Due to the restrictions and road closures, more traffic is likely on the motorways so please leave in plenty of time to get to the game.

Information on road closures can be found on the Get Ready Glasgow website. https://www.getreadyglasgow.com/cop26/traffic-and-travel

Please check with Traffic Scotland for any road works and delays a day prior to your journey and on the day. Leave plenty of time to make the journey.

All Aberdeen supporter’s coaches and private vehicles travelling along the M74 should exit the M8 at junction 23 (signposted Govan & Dumbreck) turning right towards Ibrox Stadium, north on Broomloan Road, travelling through the roundabout, where they will park as directed within the Broomloan Road car park.

All Aberdeen supporters’ coaches and private vehicles crossing the Kingston Bridge should exit the M8 at junction 24 (signposted Govan) turning right towards Asda, north on Helen Street, before turning right at the roundabout onto Edmiston Drive. Travel east on Edmiston Drive, before turning left at the roundabout onto Broomloan Road, where they will park as directed within the Broomloan Road car park.

ABERDEEN SUPPORTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE THE (FREE) AWAY CAR PARK. – There will be dedicated free parking for cars and buses in the away support car park in Broomloan Road located near to the North West of the stadium which will be the access point for the away support. BUSES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARK ANYWHERE OTHER THAN THIS CAR PARK. Police and stewards will be in attendance throughout.

Supporters travelling to the match should arrive at the stadium in plenty of time. Turnstiles will open 90 minutes before KO.

Please be aware of Glasgow City Council Parking Controls – Event Day Parking Zone – which affects streets near to Ibrox Stadium and will come into force during all football matches. People must not park in streets, near to Ibrox Stadium, which have been coned by Glasgow City Council.

Covid Vaccination Certificates

IMPORTANT – Please expect to be checked for Covid Vaccination Certificates or exemption certificates. This is required by law. Trained Stewards will not ask for any details of disabilities or health conditions, but merely proof of the existence of a valid exemption document. IT IS ADVISABLE TO TAKE A PAPER COPY OF THE DOCUMENT FOR EASE OF CHECKING.

Rangers Football Club will not refuse entry to those who are exempt provided that the individual can provide acceptable evidence. Please note a negative COVID 19 test result cannot be accepted as an alternative to evidence of vaccination.

– People who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons
– Under 18s
– Participants (past or present) in COVID‐19 vaccine trial
– The person responsible for the premises
– Employees or volunteers working at event/venue Emergency services responders and regulators carrying out their work

Masks should be worn in internal areas of the stand and when moving throughout. Mask wearing is encouraged at all times.

Please have regard to public safety and the continued COVID protocols, which all players and match officials abide by,

Aberdeen supporters will enter through turnstiles 76 and 77.

Surfing flags are not permitted. All flags will be scrutinised by the safety team before entry is permitted. Smoking is prohibited in the stadium. E-cigarettes are not permitted in the seated areas.
Strictly no pyrotechnic devices to be taken to the game, ignited in any stand or to be thrown on to the pitch.

Aberdeen Supporters MAY be held back for 10-15 minutes at the end of the game to allow the majority of Rangers supporters to leave the area. Early information will be passed from the Event Control Room if this is to happen. Given the traffic issues externally, this does not impact greatly on the overall travel time home.

The safety barrier/fence will be in place before the game and may be retained in position after, dependant on circumstances. Police Scotland will facilitate the movement of coaches and other vehicles to the motorway at the end of the game.

The Aberdeen supporters should exit the car park turning right, on Broomloan Road towards the M8 motorway, and will be assisted by Police Scotland. All vehicles within the car park will be held for a short time and will all leave in convoy.
