Lewis Ferguson was the player who spoke to RedTV and the media after the game.

“We were miles off it but we’re the ones that have to turn it around, and quickly.

“We need to stick together because what we’re going through at the minute feels like being at rock bottom. Everybody’s on the same wavelength, everybody’s hurting, but we can only fix that by winning games.

“It’s tough to take that defeat, frustrating, disappointing. We’re just struggling at the minute, we can’t get a result, and we need to perform better and quickly, simple as that. We’ve got a good group of players and we’re just angry that we’re not producing better on matchdays.

“There’s quality in our dressing room but we’re nowhere near where we should be at the minute. We’re not showing it on the pitch at present and I don’t know why that is.

“As the games go on with a result, when we’re behind, you try to force things maybe, you don’t do things so naturally, you try to play passes you wouldn’t normally, and that comes from frustration. You make bad decisions and every one of those is costing us at the minute. We don’t concede too many chances but every one that we do, we seem to concede a goal from it and we give ourselves a mountain to climb.

“The longer it goes on, the more the pressure builds, that’s football. We’ve a strong group of guys with quality, experience, winners; but we have to just stick together and work our way through this. It’s a tough time but only we can change it, nobody is going to do it for us, we have to go and be better and start winning games again.

“The mood was good before the game, the boys were looking forward to playing well, and getting things moving but it is so disappointing to come away having got beat again. We’re as frustrated as the fans are, we can understand how they feel, because we feel it too, and it’s really tough at the moment.

“They come in big numbers, spend their money and we’re not giving them the results their backing deserves, so you can understand them being critical, and rightly so. We’re not anywhere near good at the moment and we have to apologise to them for that. But we are doing all we can to turn it around.”
