Virtual Season Tickets/Virtual Access

Which matches will be included as part of the virtual season ticket?

Season ticket holders will have virtual access to all Covid-19 impacted behind closed doors and reduced spectator capacity home league matches in season 20/21. The matches will be broadcast to season ticket holders via a separate portal on RedTV, this will also include any home matches selected by Sky.

If I have a 20/21 season ticket, will I have to pay extra to access the matches online?

No, your season ticket gives you access to watch all of our home league games, live online, at no extra cost, for as long as games are played behind closed doors or with reduced spectator capacity as a result of Covid-19.

Will I be able to watch away matches?

We’re working with the other Premiership clubs to explore arrangements, such as pay per view, for away games. This is something that is outwith our control at the moment and we will update you as soon as we can.

We would like to be in a position to offer our season ticket holders access to both home and away games but this may not be possible. In the same way that that the home club benefits from ticket sales to away fans, a mechanism needs to be found to protect this income for all the clubs.

If I don’t have a season ticket, how will I watch one-off games?

At this stage, we don’t know if we will be able to sell virtual tickets on a pay-per-view basis for games behind closed doors. We are exploring options that may open this up to all supporters, including AberDNA members, but our priority right now must be on delivering value for our season ticket holders and the technical development work needed to make that happen.

How will I be able to watch matches?

Behind closed doors home games will be broadcast on a separate portal on RedTV. Aberdeen matches chosen for live coverage will also be available on Sky Sports.

Will I need to subscribe to Sky to watch these games?

As a season ticket holder, you don’t need a Sky subscription to watch the Aberdeen home matches that will be made available online for the period that home matches that are played behind closed doors or with reduced spectator capacity as a result of Covid-19.

All Aberdeen home matches being broadcast by Sky, during this period, will also be streamed online by the club for 20/21 season ticket holders.

I live abroad, will I be able to watch these games?

RedTV International subscribers will be able to view matches live in the same way they have been able to do in previous seasons.

I have a RedTV subscription, what should I do?

RedTV subscribers will be contacted in the coming weeks regarding full arrangements for 20/21 but at this stage we can confirm that a current UK subscription will not provide live video coverage of home matches.

I have multiple season ticket holders in my household, how are we all going to get value from our tickets?

This applies to many of our season ticket holders and we are determined to find a way to ensure that every season ticket holder feels they have been provided with value for money. This is one of several issues we are still grappling with and, when we have answers, we will be in touch with those affected.

What other options are the club looking at to provide full value?

Supporters who sign-up to 20/21 season tickets will be among the first to return to Pittodrie should partial crowds be allowed later this year. In addition to securing virtual access for home matches we are also looking into potential access to prize draws and events along with access to friendly or exhibition matches. Other options being looked at include credits against future purchases, preferential rates and/or free access to a fixture selected by the club in the future.

How many matches are likely to be behind closed doors?

We are working on the basis that we will be able to welcome partial crowds back to Pittodrie in the Autumn before full crowds return in January. This is of course dependent on advice and guidance from the government and the football governing bodies.

Will the Club be offering half season tickets?

Mid-season tickets will be on offer as we approach the halfway point in the season as normal.

The priority just now, for the survival and sustainability of the Club through this challenging period, is to continue to drive season ticket sales and to deliver value to those season ticket holders.

How have prices been set for Red Shed?

To facilitate unallocated seating, as with the Scottish Cup trials, we have had to reduce the capacity in the Merkland Stand to 1,900 tickets, just 1,600 will be available for season tickets. 300 will be made available for match by match sales.

We know that 1,000 supporters attended both matches and anticipate strong interest from this group in particular in taking up a season ticket in this area for next season.

We have taken a conscious decision not to include an U12 price for this area based on the experience that many kids had for both Scottish Cup matches. We are aware that some youngsters enjoyed the experience, but others were unable to view the pitch, which led to them standing on seats or moving into aisles to see the action.

We want to maximise the active support in this area and ensure that youngsters can enjoy the Red Shed from close by with a view to being part of it one day and with that in mind we have reduced pricing for U12s in Gold and Silver areas around the stadium.

Whilst we anticipate that most of the attendees will be adults based on data from the Scottish Cup matches, we want to create a pathway from U18 through to adult pricing and have taken the decision to include an U18 price based on the pricing that was in place for the Kilmarnock and Dumbarton matches, with an 18-21 price also available to bridge the gap.

Do I have the option to spread the cost of my ticket over a few months?

6 MONTHLY PAYMENTS – Sign up before 5.30pm on 10th July and you will have the option to spread the cost over 6 months. No extra fees as interest costs covered by AFC.

To apply for finance through V12 simply select the finance option on the payment page when purchasing your season ticket. V12 will then contact you by email with full information on how to apply for the monthly payment option.

Across all stands season ticket holders will enjoy a significant reduction on matchday prices as well as all the additional benefits of being a season ticket holder.

Where is the family area?

Since its introduction the club has found it difficult to distinguish the Merkland Stand as a family area in anything other than name. Opportunities are limited due to the space and facilities available.

Demand over the past few seasons has not been there for a family stand, however we will still be looking to direct those who are looking to attend as a family or to introduce young supporters to certain sections of the RDS Lower, Main and South Stands.

Why is the RDS Upper closing?

One of the main objectives is to ensure greater numbers of supporters in fewer areas around the stadium, getting fans closer to the pitch to influence the action and recreate a real home advantage at Pittodrie. In order to bring supporters closer to the action, the Richard Donald Stand Upper will be closed for all league matches for season 20/21 and will only open in exceptional circumstances such as a European fixture.

Why has disabled pricing changed?

We are bringing our pricing structure in line with the preferred and non-discriminatory pricing policy of CAFÉ (Centre for Access to Football in Europe) therefore our disabled tickets will now be priced according to age with a carer free of charge. In the event of an evacuation, assistance will be provided to those seated in MKL 7. For those sitting elsewhere within the stadium you will be responsible for your own evacuation.

Can I return my seat for matches I cannot attend?

Due to popular demand our season ticket exchange scheme will be reintroduced for season 20/21 and will give supporters the chance to gain cashback for any matches they cannot attend. Supporters who have taken advantage of the scheme can receive 25% cashback to be used against the value of their 21/22 season ticket. *T&C’s apply. Details to be announced in full before the season begins.

Can I use my mobile to gain access to the stadium?

NFC Mobile ticketing will be available for all season ticket holders for season 20/21, allowing the use of mobile phones to gain access to the stadium by downloading season tickets to each device.

Why haven’t I received a brochure?

This season we will issue information to all season ticket holders we currently don’t hold email data for. Based on historical buying patterns, we will also issue a season ticket mailer to supporters we feel would benefit from receiving information about purchasing a season ticket for 20/21.

All season ticket holders with email data will receive an email with their renewal details for the new season. If you have not received an email please contact ticketoffice@afc.co.uk.

Will the Autocup scheme be available for 20/21?

Our Autocup scheme will once again be in place for season 20/21 allowing all season ticket holders to have home cup matches automatically loaded on to their season ticket card without having to contact the club for payment.

Can U12s attend the match without an adult?

To comply with our safeguarding policy all U12s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
