AberDNA | Class of 2019 to be recognised!
With the new season now underway around 6,000 Dons supporters have renewed as AberDNA Members and will each receive a membership pack later this month.
Over the summer the squad has been bolstered by the signings of Ryan Hedges, Curtis Main, Ashton Taylor, Jon Gallagher, Greg Leigh, Craig Bryson, James Wilson and the acquisition of Funso Ojo. The management team, Derek McInnes and Tony Docherty have also committed their future to the club signing contract extensions until the summer of 2022.
The recruitment team has worked tirelessly to get this work done early and a lot of that has been made possible thanks to the support of AberDNA members. In previous years recruitment has been heavily influenced by season ticket sales which are not always known until later in the summer, and whilst this is still partly the case, the club has been able to get business done early counting on the significant contribution that has been made by AberDNA members.
Last summer we recognised every Founding Member in the tunnel at Pittodrie and there is good news for those Dons supporters who have signed up for the first time in 2019. Those supporters will be recognised in the tunnel area at Pittodrie as part of the ‘Class of 2019’ along with everyone who joins before 31st August.
The extension will enable supporters who sign-up before this date to receive the new exclusive souvenir pack and gain recognition in the tunnel area as a member of the ‘Class of 2019’ when it is revamped later this summer. Supporters who signed-up in the first year will continue to be recognised separately online and in the tunnel area at Pittodrie as Founding Members, a benefit which will continue to the new stadium at Kingsford.
Commenting on the decision to relaunch this opportunity for supporters, AberDNA Memberships Executive, Neil Halliwell said, “We want AberDNA to be something that not only helps the Football Operation, but also helps the supporters to feel a part of the fabric of the football club. The feedback we have had is that the opportunity to have your name etched into history here at Pittodrie really resonates with people and makes them feel part of what we are trying to achieve here.”
All supporters who have signed up since the Founding Member deadline on 31st August last year will be included on the new tunnel wall artwork along with any supporters who sign-up before 31st August 2019.
Funds raised from AberDNA are directed to the first team, directly supporting the football management team’s budget, to the youth academy, enhancing the ability to identify, recruit and inspire local young talent and towards helping to create a high-performance environment with a best-in-class Football Medicine and Sports Science and Performance Analysis support structure for all professional and youth academy players.
