Paul spoke to RedTV after the 2-2 draw with Morton this afternoon:

“Once you get in that position, 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go, however you get into position, you have to take advantage of that.

“I don’t think we were great at any stage, we did not really have any real control at any stage of the game.

“But at 2-0 you should be seeing out the game.

“There was always an edgeless for some reason.

“Also the changes maybe did not help, but you still expect to see the game out.

“Although we did not play well the goals were well worked.

“For the first one Seb produces some good play and uses his body well before picking out Miko. We asked the two of them to get forward, so when they did it was pleasing.

“The second goal we score is a great set piece from Ethan, he had one before that which we don’t do properly. When we do it right, we get the reward with Connor heading it back across to Lloyd.

“It is part of the learning process, how to see a game like that out.

“We needed to manage it a lot better. We needed to pull ourselves together to keep our shape which would have made it a bit more difficult. We allowed too many gaps and too many opportunities.

“We should not have done that.

“Hopefully they do learn from it. But there is a lot frustration today.

“With one game to go, I can reflect on the campaign a bit. The first part was very stop start, up until Christmas. We never really got any fluency or momentum and it was a struggle. I think in the main the second half of the season has been good in terms of results and performances.

“We have had a decent run in the second part of the season.

“We have put a lot of demands on the younger ones which is not ideal.

“They have played a lot of football and I think that maybe showed up a bit today as well.”
