“It is what Aberdeen teams in the past have done well.

“Previous sides under this manager have always been strong late in games and grabbed late winners that have got important points for us and that is what happened on Tuesday.

“To take the lead in a game, which has probably not happened this season as much as we would have liked was good, but we have let Livingston back in it with two soft goals.

“Andy and myself should have done better for the first one and the second one I have probably picked the wrong decision. I tried to block a shot when a runner has gone in behind me. So it was very frustrating when that went in.

“But the boys bailed us out in the second half and to score three goals in a game, against a team who have kept a good few clean sheets, and who have a good defence and a good keeper, was very encouraging.

“So that was good and it was pleasing that boys were getting on the end of crosses. The first goal came from Sam’s cross, the second one from Connor’s cross and you could say the third one came from a cross as well, Niall’s corner.

“There is a steeliness about this side. We have shown that this season.

“Also in the big games we have preformed well in. I don’t know if that is because it is easier for us to stay in shape and be organised whereas when we play teams who sit in, there is a bit more responsibility on us to take the game to them. That is something we are working hard on.

“It was disappointing to go from the good two performances against Celtic in the cup and Rangers at Ibrox to that loss against St Johnstone on the Saturday.

“It is about being patient. Against St Johnstone though, if you analyse that game which we did, we did not create enough chances. No one was really gambling in the box. So it was pleasing to see against Livingston everyone was getting right in amongst it and making runs, making runs knowing that you might not get the ball, but it drags defenders out and leaves room for other players. If you get bodies in the box, then you will always have a chance of scoring.”
