“We’re so disappointed after two great performances.

“Although last Sunday we didn’t get the result it was a great performance and then at Ibrox on Wednesday it was a fantastic result. We came here today high on confidence and it’s just so disappointed we’ve come away with nothing.

“Both games took a lot out of us mentally and physically, but that’s no excuse. We should still be doing a job here in front of our home fans and getting the three points. We just lacked that wee bit of spark to get the goal. I think we were actually playing well up until they scored, and it’s just deflated us and it went flat from there. The next game can’t come quick enough.

“We’ve got players like Stevie May, James Wilson, Scott Wright, McGinn and Gary, although he’s out and we missed him today as he’s a top player, but we’ve got players that can go and give us that spark and today we maybe lacked that bit of creativity.

“The St Johnstone performance, they sit in and allow you to have the ball and when they get their opportunity from a set-piece they take it.

“It will be a similar game against Livingston so hopefully we can learn from what’s just happened out there and go take the points from that game.

“There always is (emphasis) on the attacking players to get goals and as a midfielder that’s what I want as well. It’s the same with the likes of Shinnie and the wide players, but today it wasn’t to be and we lacked that spark as I said. We’re so disappointed not to get the three points.

“They are very hard working St Johnstone and are hard to play against. They keep that narrow and compact shape and allow us to have the ball at the back similar to what we were like in the past two games. They work ever so hard and credit to them because they made it so difficult for us today and they are the ones leaving with the three points.

“We’ve got a lot of home games and so many games in December, so the gaffer was saying it’s time to start picking up points and moving up that table. It’s disappointing today to drop three points, but they have gone. We’ve got so many more games this month and a lot of things can change in the next few weeks.”
