Supporter Information | League Cup SF

Read all the important supporter information before heading off for Hampden on Sunday.

AT THE STADIUM

All fans attending the Aberdeen v Rangers Betfred Scottish League Cup Semi-Final should note that stringent search arrangements will be in place at this fixture. This safety measure has the potential to delay entry into the ground so fans are strongly encouraged to get to the stadium as early as possible. Supporters should expect to be searched prior to entry. Please DO NOT take any large bags which may become a hindrance.

There are no cash turnstiles.

Turnstiles will be open 1 ½ hours before kick-off i.e. 3PM.

Clubs are reminded that this is a neutral venue and as such they will be held responsible to repair or pay for any damage caused by their supporters.

Supporters are reminded about no alcohol on buses, attempting to gain entry whilst drunk and no pyrotechnic devices are to be set off. Pitch incursions are strictly forbidden.

GETTING TO THE STADIUM

Spectators attending events at Hampden Park should be aware that the area around the stadium is mainly residential and an Event Day Parking Zone operates around the stadium. This restricts parking to Resident’s Parking Permit holders and the specified times/dates are displayed on ‘Zone Entry’ signs.

On event days, Police Scotland would advise spectators to use public transport to get to the stadium, if not travelling by organised coaches/buses. There is NO public parking in the vicinity of the stadium.

PRE MATCH ROUTES FOR ABERDEEN SUPPORTERS COACHES APPROACHING THE EAST OF THE STADIUM:

M74 Northbound: Exit the M74 at Junction 1A (Polmadie). Turn left onto Polmadie Road turn right onto Calder Street, where your coach will be directed to park.

A car park pass will be required for entry to the ‘purple car park’; to access this continue to junction with Aikenhead Road, continue south onto Aikenhead Road, stay in the right hand lane and continue through the junction with Prospecthill Road where your coach will be directed to park in the purple car park.

Buses entering the ‘purple car park’ must enter no later than 90 minutes prior to kick off. Hospitality vehicles entering the ‘purple car park’ must enter no later than 60 minutes prior to kick off.

M74 Southbound: Exit the M74 at Junction 1A (Polmadie). Turn right onto Polmadie Road, turn right onto Calder Street, where your coach will be directed to park.

M80 Southbound: Exit towards M73 Junction 4 (Carlisle) and continue south. At Junction 1 join the M74 north and follow the above route.

M8 Eastbound: Continue on the M8 to junction 1 of the M74, (offside lane). Exit the M74 at Junction 1A (Polmadie) and follow the route above.

M8 Westbound: Exit the M8 at junction 20 (nearside lane), merge onto West Street, turn left into Wallace Street, keep left to continue on Dalintober Street, merge onto M74, exit the M74 at junction 1A (Polmadie) and follow the route above.

A8 Westbound: Continue onto the M8 to Junction 8 (Baillieston) and join the M73 southbound. Thereafter take the offside lane to join the M74 and follow the above route.

POST MATCH ROUTES FOR ABERDEEN SUPPORTERS FROM THE EAST OF

THE STADIUM:

After the event, coaches in Polmadie Street and coaches facing south in Aikenhead Road, should follow the reverse of the routes shown above.

Coaches parked facing north in Aikenhead Road should continue north on Aikenhead Road, turn right into Cathcart Road, then turn right into Caledonia Road to the roundabout junction, turn right onto The Boulevard, continue to the roundabout junction, turn left onto Kilbride Street, continue to the traffic light junction, turn right onto Polmadie Road and join M74 junction 1A.

PRIVATE CAR

If you do take the car, please be aware of Glasgow City Council Parking Controls – Event Day Parking Zone – which affects streets near to Hampden Stadium and will come into force during relevant, well attended events:

PRIVATE SUPPORTER’S COACHES

Travel advice for Aberdeen supporters: Passes for Hampden Park have been distributed. All supporter’s buses MUST arrive no later than 90 minutes before KO. Hospitality Buses MUST arrive no later than 60 minutes before KO.

First Scotrail:

Mount Florida and Kings Park train stations are a short walk from the stadium. Aberdeen supporters are encouraged to use the Kings Park Station.

There will be a segregated queuing system in place at Glasgow Central pre-match. Aberdeen supporters will be queued on the main concourse at Glasgow Central and will travel to Kings Park which services the East side of Hampden Park. The Aberdeen queue will be serviced from platforms 5-8.

Rangers supporters will be queued down the old carriage drive located towards platforms 11-15 at Glasgow Central. They will travel to Mount Florida which will service the West side of Hampden Park. The Rangers queue will be serviced from platforms 9-11.

Post-match Aberdeen supporters will use Kings Park Station located on Kings Park Avenue. Any queuing will start at the underpass of the railway and will filter out onto Kings Park Avenue. There are extra trains being run from Kings Park post-match.

Post-match Rangers supporters will use Mount Florida station located on Bolton Drive in Glasgow. The station will operate post-match with only the Bolton Drive entrance being open to allow for queuing. The Battlefield Road, Prospecthill Road and McLennan Street will be closed and supporters will be redirected to the end of the queue.

There will be a queuing system in place at Glasgow Queen Street in the car park at the North Hanover Street entrance of the station for Aberdeen supporters. Please follow the directions of police and Scotrail staff.

There are a number of road closures in place on Sunday 28th October as a result of filming. Stewards will be on hand to direct the public.

All trains between Glasgow Central and Kings Park and Mount Florida pre and post-match will be subject to Scotrail by law prohibiting carrying alcohol on designated trains.

UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT MESSAGE

The SPFL and SFA will not tolerate unacceptable conduct at Hampden Park.

Unacceptable conduct is conduct which is violent or disorderly.  Violent conduct includes any actual, attempted or threatened physical violence against any person, or intentional damage to property. Disorderly conduct includes: Conduct which stirs up or sustains, or is likely or is designed to stir up or sustain, hatred or ill will against or towards individuals or groups of people based on their membership of presumed membership of the following categories:

  • Gender, colour, race, nationality or ethnic or national origin
  • Membership, or presumed membership, of a religious group or of a social or cultural group with perceived religious affiliation
  • Sexual orientation
  • Transgender identity
  • Disability
  • Or against an individual who is or is presumed to be a member of such group using threatening, abusive or insulting words or conduct; displaying writing or any other thing which is threatening, abusive or insulting; using words or conduct or displaying any writing or other thing which indicates support for, or affiliation to, or celebration of, or opposition to an organisation or group proscribed in terms of the Terrorism Act 2000.

“Presumed” above means presumed by the person or persons engaged in the conduct.

“Religious group” above means a group of persons defined by reference to their religious belief or lack of religious belief, membership of or adherence to a church or religious organisation, support for the culture and traditions of a church or religious organisation and/or participation in activities associated with such a culture or such traditions.

“Transgender identity” means any one or more of transvestism, transsexualism, inter-sexuality or change of gender.

“Disability” means physical or mental impairment of any kind.

Any person engaging in unacceptable conduct may be subject to removal from the Stadium, report to the police and possible criminal proceedings.
