Gary Mackay-Steven’s late penalty was the difference as Aberdeen claimed their first victory of the season with a 1-0 victory over Dundee.

A match that was an open contest and if Dundee could finish they may very well have had the win. Aberdeen used the wide areas well with McGinn and Mackay-Steven testing the wing backs, but it looked as though the visitors would have to settle for the point as the clock ticked down.

The reds were finally able to make the breakthrough with 15 minutes to go when Dominic Ball’s header was blocked by a Dundee arm and Bobby Madden pointed to the spot. Mackay-Steven tucked it away which ensured the points go back up the A90 and The Dons move onto four points.

A full match report as well as RedTV reaction to follow this evening.
