The Vattenfall Award of the Month recognises outstanding commitment to the girls’ game from an individual, whether that be a player, coach or volunteer.

The winner of this award for April is Neil Daniel!

Neil is a coach for Donside Girls, involved in their U7s, U9s, U11s and U13s age groups. His nomination came through his players,“ We think Coach Neil is brilliant! He keeps us right on the pitch, and always gives us positive feedback. We learn something new at every training session, he makes football fun and sees the best in everyone, no matter their ability.

“If we ever need any extra help, he is always happy to give up his time and even set up an extra 1v1 skills training.”

Fellow coach, David Silcocks, also commented on Neil’s commitment to the Club, “Within a very short period of volunteering, Neil though that he might like to become more involved and proceeded to complete 3 Scottish FA Coach Education courses within 4 months.

“Neil is so passionate about the progression of all the girls at every age group; he is totally dedicated and his sessions are meticulously planned, innovative and aimed at developing each and every player. This has resulted in recently starting an additional 1v1 skills development session. Neil is an inspiration to the girl’s section of Donside Juvenile FC.”

This month’s award was presented at Donside’s weekly training session, with all the Club’s players in attendance to recognise the achievement.

Congratulations from everyone here at Aberdeen FC Community Trust!
