RedMatchday Issue 13 | Preview

29 December 2017

As it is the final programme of the year, we have produced a RedMatchday Special.

Following in the footsteps of Danny Ward and Shay Logan, this year Mark Reynolds is giving us the inside line on the dressing room, giving us his opinion on every one of his team mates. Well worth a read!

The first team squad have picked their favourite moment of 2017. Some took the exercise slightly more seriously than others….

There’s an in-depth interview with Joe Lewis. The Dons’ number one gives us a privileged insight into the world of goalkeeping as well as reflecting upon the past 12 months.

Saturday’s “Former Players” interview is a very special one. Bobby Wilson was a Hearts fan but it was at Aberdeen that he made a name for himself as he famously became part of the 1955 League Cup winning side. Bobby visited Pittodrie recently and he takes up the story…

“My greatest moment in football was winning the League Cup in 1955 but the one regret I have always had is that a team photograph in our playing kit was never taken on the day or afterwards. So I contacted the club recently to see if, by using modern technology, they could help”.

And we did. You can read more about the story in Saturday’s magazine.

There are interviews with Graeme Shinnie and Kenny McLean plus Anthony O’Connor picks his all time Ireland XI. There is a Q&A with Connor McLennan and we spoke to Gordon Marshall who told us about his Dad – Gordon Senior played for the Dons in the ’70s and last year was inducted into the Hearts Hall of Fame.

Richard Gordon and Chris Crighton have penned columns and we asked some of our very talented photographers to pick their favourite photos of the year. Plus all the usual features in our extensive history section.

All this, 84 pages worth of content for only £3.00. RedMatchday Magazine is available to buy in and around the ground and is available in the AFC Club Shop. You can also order a copy online by clicking here.

Finally, the RedMatchday team would like to wish all our readers a very Happy New Year.
