Dons Supporters Team Scouting For New Players

Aberdeen Supporters Club on the lookout for new players.

Red Stars Baagrade, a Glasgow-based Aberdeen supporters football team, are searching for new players to help the squad for the remainder of the season. Experience of playing 11-a side is desirable, but not essential and all positions are welcomed. The team trains on Thursday evenings, with matches taking place on Sunday afternoons.

Despite a recruitment drive this past summer, the team have struggled with numbers this season and need new players as a lack of numbers could mean fixtures are not fulfilled.  The latest fixture was an 8-4 victory, so there is plenty to be excited about joining the Red Stars as they sit second in the Scottish Sunday Central Amateur League and are chasing a first league title.

Stuart Hay, founder of Red Stars, said: “As an Aberdeen supporters club based in Glasgow we have a limited pool of potential players to reach out to, so it is important that we continue to raise awareness of our club to ensure that any Dons fans who live in the area are aware of the team. If you know of anybody who has moved down to the area for university, or to start a new job, or has always lived here then please help us spread the word.

“What have you got to lose? Get yourself along to training and enjoy the chance to meet fellow Dons fans down here in Glasgow.”
