September’s TexoDrone Young Talent of the Month Award was presented to Under 11 player Kyle Simpson at a recent Academy training session. 

Having had a good start to the season, Kyle was pushed up to the Under 12s during the month to face St Johnstone and Morton in Club Academy Scotland Fixtures. 

Playing as a defender, Kyle has contributed to a good number of clean sheets during the month and was also a strong performer at his own age group in matches against Hibernian, Motherwell and Queens Park. 

Kyle who also likes to get forward and play in midfield has also contributed with 7 goals during September and also enjoyed the good challenge of playing against his previous boys club, West Dyke U12s. 

Head of Academy Coaching, Gavin Levey praised Kyle’s recent performances, “He had a really strong month in terms of his development and played a lot of minutes against older players at training and in games. 

“Kyle’s determination in and out of possession has really stood out so far this season and the extra work he’s put in away from training has certainly contributed to his good performances lately. 

“It should also be highlighted that both the TexoDrone winners this month started out at West Dyke Community Club, so I’m sure they will be very proud seeing the lads picking up these awards”.
