DATA ANALYST – ABERDEEN FOOTBALL CLUB

Aberdeen Football Club is a high-profile institution in the North East of Scotland with an impressive heritage of domestic and international achievements since the Club was established in 1903, including the 'golden era' in the mid-1980's under the direction of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Club is an ambitious organisation looking towards further success and long-term sustainability in support of our football team by adding value across every area of our day to day business for the overall benefit of our staff, supporters and clients.

In order to support Aberdeen FC's ambitions off the field a new position has been created for a Data Analyst. The successful applicant will manage the integrity of all club data, ensuring any integrations between systems are working effectively, undertaking complex data analysis to qualify performance of products and services throughout the club by means of constructing and producing reports and BI dashboards.

The Data Analyst will also perform marketing extracts for targeted marketing campaigns, in line with the Club's CRM Strategy to improve fan engagement, improve customer experience, grow revenue streams and enhance the reach of Aberdeen FC Community Trust.

The main requirements for this position are:

  • Degree or equivalent level qualification in a numerical subject with significant statistical content.
  • Some experience of data analysis, specifically with a history of working with large amounts of data.
  • Technical analytical skills within a sales, marketing or CRM environment.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server, Excel and Access (or equivalent programmes), skills including SQL, V-look ups, Pivot tables and Macros.
  • Good understanding of relational databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information, findings and reports clearly and confidently to a range of audiences, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with ability to work on own initiative.
  • This is a full time role (35 hours per week + home matches) and salary for this position will be dependent on relevant qualifications and experience.
