Red & White City Campaign - All for Aberdeen!

12 May 2017

All for Aberdeen!
Aberdeen v Celtic, Scottish Cup Final, Saturday 27th May

As Aberdeen move closer to their trip to Hampden to take on Celtic on Saturday 27th May in the club’s first Scottish Cup Final in 17 years we are calling on the Aberdeen community, and supporters all over the world to Don their red & white in support of Derek McInnes and his side!

With Aberdeen being a one club city we believe that this occasion should not just be for the club and our supporters but for the city and the wider Aberdeen community. We are All for Aberdeen!

Along with our partner charity Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) and in partnership with Aberdeen Inspired, we are looking to generate a feel-good factor around the city for all in the period leading up to the match with a particular emphasis on the week of the match and the Friday before the cup final itself.

Adrian Watson, CEO of Aberdeen Inspired said: “Aberdeen Inspired is delighted to team up with Aberdeen Football Club and AFCCT in marking the fantastic achievement of the team in making it to the Scottish Cup Final later in the month, after an already very successful season.

“For our part, Aberdeen Inspired is delighted to commission the red and white bunting on Union Street and to encourage our many businesses to get behind the Dons on the run-up to Cup Final day. Already many businesses are looking to decorate their business in red and white, create AFC themed goods and offers to reflect the City’s club success. I’m sure the north-east public will get right behind it.”

With tickets already on sale for the match we know that we can count on the support of the famous Red Army on the day and would love to see people around the city and supporters all around the world in unison decked out in red & white in the lead up to the match!

For the week of the match we have listed some initiatives below that you can opt into, we would be delighted to receive your support in any way.

Red & White Day – Friday 26th May

Prior to the League Cup Final in November a number of local schools and businesses dressed up in their red and white for a ‘Red & White Day’ and this time we want to do it on a bigger scale! On Friday 26th May, the day before the match we are calling on everyone in the city to dress red & white for the day.

On the day we would also welcome any donations made around the city in support of our partner charity Aberdeen FC Community Trust. Last time round some schools and organisations opted to ask staff and pupils for £1 on the day.
